![]() ![]() I mounted a 1/2"x10"x20" board under my desk and then drilled and mounted that so it sticks out about 8" into the space by my feet. Now, the unit under my desk is a SWEET set-up. Since the unit is light weight plastic, it lacks the ability to stay put on its own when you need to undock. Yea, picky to list that as a negative, but it still seems awkward. I guess this is a good place to list one more negative issue - but it is a small and obvious one - when you undock, you have to hold the base in place while you lift your laptop up and out. I have one in the conference room hooked up to our 60" tv in the office. The people who are giving this a bad review, or say that the plugs are poorly put together, must be impatient or unable to understand the instructions, cause I have had very little trouble with setting up these docks. I have had mine in the same position for more than three years. Once all the plugs are lined up and fit properly - you should not have to touch them - ever. The only other negative I can come up with is that the first time you get everything set up you will have to fiddle around a bit to get all the plugs properly lined up. The only place I can see ware happening is just around the edges of the mag safe connection - and that is minor. The plastic fits the laptop snug and does not seem to scratch up the sides - even after more than three years of use. They are very well made and they give you all the parts you need in the box. With that said let me give you my honest opinion on these. ![]() For the price they charge - you get a well made product with lots of extra goodies to make them work their very best. Understand, these are simple, plug replicators, and you will have to do some fiddling around to get them just right. I absolutely love these docking stations. I have now purchased 4 of these over the past few years. ![]()
